We are seeking an experienced and motivated staff scientist to join our R&D team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge cosmetic solutions.
Job Requirements: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field.
- Proficient in analytical techniques including FTIR, UV/Vis, GC, particle size analysis, and wet chemistry, with strong expertise in literature research.
- Expertise in method development, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of analytical methods.
- Exceptional technical writing and communication skills, able to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with cosmetic raw materials and a strong understanding of industry-specific applications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to achieve company goals.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as ISO, GMP, and FDA guidelines for cosmetics, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities Include: - Conduct thorough analysis of samples to determine the identity and quantity of components. Support troubleshooting efforts within R&D and QC departments.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for both new and existing products or processes, particularly in collaboration with the QC department.
- Utilize and maintain analytical instruments such as UV/Vis, GC, FTIR, and other related equipment, ensuring proper calibration and upkeep.
- Analyze test results, interpret data, and draw accurate conclusions to guide the development process.
- Prepare detailed reports that include experimental procedures, results, and conclusions in compliance with company standards.
- Lead scientific research projects to drive product innovation and improvements.
- Develop technical documentation, manage new product releases, and offer technical service and support to both internal teams and external customers, including during customer visits.
- Lead and mentor lab personnel, fostering a safe and efficient working environment while promoting continuous improvement in R&D labs.
- Work closely with QC, R&D, and Production teams to ensure seamless product development and analysis.

Kobo Products, Inc. located in South Plainfield, NJ is seeking a motivated QC Lab Technician to join our team. Willing to train candidates with limited work experience, but strong laboratory experience in an educational setting.
Job Requirements: - BS in Chemistry / Biological Sciences / Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 1-2 years working experience a plus (recent college graduates will receive on-site training)
- Strong color experience is a plus
- Must have the ability to multi-task and work with others in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work independently, prioritizing the workload
- Must have strong problem solving, communication, organizational, math, and computer skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools required, experience using Excel is a plus
- Background working with powders/dispersions in the personal care, pharma, or similar industry is preferred
- Exposure to GC and Ion Chromatography is a plus
- Must be able to lift at least ~25lbs
Responsibilities Include: - Performing various wet, physical, and instrumental testing to monitor physical and chemical characteristics of pigment powders
- Measuring and evaluating color matches to standards
- Adhering to lab methods, SOP procedures, and documenting results of testing procedures in accordance with GMP standards and FDA regulations
- Interacting with QA/RD to make sure all non-conforming results are investigated
Shift: - Monday-Friday 2:00 - 10:00PM

Kobo Products, Inc. located in S. Plainfield, NJ is seeking an experienced and energetic professional to join our team as a Chemical Operator in our Dispersion Plant.
Job Requirements: - Minimum of 1 year batch making and operating experience with process milling equipment
- Experience with wet-grinding a plus
- Background working with powders and/or dispersions in the cosmetic and/or personal care industry preferred
- Forklift experience required
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
- Operators are required to wear proper PPE – including, but not limited to, respirators. All operators must successfully pass a Pulmonary Function test through our preferred healthcare provider
Responsibilities Include: - Batch making and operation of process milling equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on production equipment.
- Follow batch tickets and document results as required.
- Follow all cGMP and departmental procedures.
- Safely operate a forklift.
Shift: - Monday-Friday 4:00AM-12:00PM

Kobo Products, Inc. manufactures and distributes raw materials for the cosmetic and personal care industry for over 30 years in S. Plainfield, NJ. We are seeking a highly motivated Warehouse Associate that is detail-oriented and can manage in a fast paced environment.
Job Requirements: - Minimum of 3-5 years experience in cosmetic, personal care, or chemical manufacturing industry preferred
- Must be trained to safely and responsibly operate forklift equipment
- Experience with cGMP and hazardous materials required
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Responsibilities Include: - Responsible for shipping, receiving, transfer, and storage of raw materials, packaging, and supplies.
- Coordinate with several other departments/buildings daily in order to prepare and inspect materials that are shipped and received.
- Continuously maintain an organized and clean warehouse.
- Comply with all company and OSHA regulated safety codes.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
Shift: - Monday-Friday 8:00AM- 4:00PM
